The Dos Equis Pavilion will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation as Dallas continues to prepare to host elements of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A Feb. 2 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation indicates the concert venue at the east end of Fair Park will undergo a $2.5 million “refresh” including new exterior paint, new illuminated building signage and new turf areas in existing plazas. The project has an estimated start date of Feb. 23 and is expected to be completed by April 1.

The work will not change the capacity or size Dos Equis Pavilion. The venue, operated by Live Nation, opened in 1988 and has a capacity of 20,000 people. Big names like Post Malone, Jason Aldean, Kendrick Lamar, Ozzy Osbourne, Miranda Lambert, Def Leppard and Foo Fighters have all performed at the venue in recent years.

All of the improvements come less than four months before North Texas hosts nine World Cup matches at AT&T Stadium. During the event, Dallas’ Fair Park will host a Fan Festival over the course of more than 34 days and is expected to attract more than 1.5 million people. Additionally, the World Cup’s International Broadcast Center will be located at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
